Criteria for Promotion
Gar'mak (meaning Anguished): A leader for practitioners of the dark arts, the Gar'mak is well-versed in ritual and the use of enemy souls to create new and devastating magical effects to the Grin's benefit.
Soul Flayer: The counselor acts as leader in the absence of the Gar’mak and advises on the course of the Lak’gora. There is only one.
- Promotion Criteria: They have met all previous requirements. Appointed by Gar’mak.
Diabolist/Felblade: They have met the requirements for Corrupter/Soulless and exceeded them. They are advisors and counselors to the Gar’mak, researchers of fel magic, and ritual leaders. In the case of Death Knights and Rogues, they are Lak’gora leaders in battle, tactical trainers, and ritual leaders.
- Promotion Criteria: 0 unexcused ritual absences, obtain the Book of the Dead (Strath) for leading rituals, 15,000 honorable kills, and gain the Higher Learning or Well Read achievement.
Corrupter/Soulless: Corrupters have proven their worth and dedication to the clan. The Lak’gora uses them to instruct the acolytes in the ways of ritual. In the case of Death Knights and Rogues, they are warriors and assassins of the Lak’gora who aspire to lead rituals.
- Promotion Criteria: Participate in at least 5 rituals (at least 1 summoning, 1 blood, and 1 initiation), have no more than 1 unexcused ritual absence, earn 5,000 honorable kills, and gain the Hallowed Be Thy Name or Explorer achievement.
Acolyte//Faceless: These are the students of the ways of dark magic. In the case of Death Knights and Rogues, they are trusted guards and spies.
- Promotion Criteria: Participate in at least 1 summoning ritual, gain the AQ temple achievement, and obtain one of each of the 8 scarabs found in AQ//Participate in at least 1 ritual, earn 15,000 honorable kills, and gain the Grim Reaper achievement.
Minion: Grot rank same as Acolyte. Inducted in Lak’gora initiation ritual.
- Promotion Criteria: Become a full-fledged member of the Grin.
Faceless/Nameless: DK and Rogue rank. These are the ritual guards and spies of the Lak’gora.
