RP Training and New Inductions

Ur'Shok Margar orders the Gol'kosh to resume patrols, recruitment, and combat training, then appoints Akan 'Diamond Eye' as Boss Grunt. In a later lesson, he teaches a grunt to maintain spacing and mobility against his chain whip and frost magic.

Margar

((The venerable shaman removes his battered and eyeless helm, revealing a shock of iron gray beard. Gone is the red he wore through the long months of the Warfront, when the Grin carved a path of fire and blood across the vast lands of the East and reclaimed their home in what was the Black Morass. He looks as stern and willful as ever, his face mutilated with countless layers of interwoven scar tissue. Smoldering blue eyes burning in dark sockets, and ugly black war runes carved above and below each of them in brutal black rows.))

Gol'kosh. It is time we expand our ranks, and reinvest ourselves in training. I want to see each of you honing your skills in the nights ahead, as I will surely be honing mine. And I want you all to be searching the ranks of the Grunts for promising members we might induct into the guard.

First thing is first. I want to start stepping up patrols in the southern regions of Blacktooth Grin territory. That will involve nightly roams and hunts. We'll scour the lands and flush out any interlopers, and deal with them. Also, we'll be playing games of blood and sport in the nearby areas, training each other in the more deceptive and dirty fighting styles that we all employ. Last, I'll be looking for another Boss Grunt until Iron Blood returns. One of you unlucky bastards will be pulling extra duties soon, so don't let me catch you dozing off at your posts like a lazy Peon or it might be your bones broken at the foot of the mountain. Are there any questions?

(( Margar scowls over the line of Grunts, one eyebrow raised in expectation. ))

<Akan stood before his Ur'Shok Margar, fresh ink and blood ran down his cheek>

"Your name is "Diamond Eye"." The old orc nodded sternly at the tauren. "You will be the new Boss Grunt, and I expect you to serve me well."

"As you are the hand, I am your hammer. Wield me as you will." The paladin saluted his commander. "There are a few grunts that show much promise Ur'Shok. I will speak with them and see if they have the steel we need."

<Akan salutes Ur'shok Margar once more and walks to his post where he scans the grunts and even the grots. Watching them duel, sharpen thier axes and frowns at the few that lay about shirking their duties.>

"A tournament." Akan mutters to himself tugging at his beard in thought. "A gauntlet of trials, perhaps. I will need to speak with Margar of this..."

Margar

Grunting, the old shaman removed his boots, and tossed his weapons into the sand.

"Again. Like I showed you, keep your distance."

He chased after the bruised grunt, his fire-imbued chain whip dancing in the gloom of dusk. She ran from him, sideways, always keeping one of her eyes on him, and one on the stretch of beach before her. He kept harrying her, and she turned her back fully, he'd crack the chain whip against the small of her back, leaving scorched marks on the heated plate armor there.

"You cannot block an attack you cannot see. You cannot dodge an attack you cannot see. Here. Come at me."

The grunt did as ordered, and charged headlong at the old orc. He danced sideways, waist turned so that she was always in his field of view. While he ran away, he pulled the heat out of the nearby air, pushing it out into the waters, and hurled the blast of frost at the grunt, slowing her.

"It does not matter how clever your magics are, or how strong your armor. If you cannot move, you will die. Now, run."

They darted back and forth across the sand like this for an hour, the old shaman showing the grunt how to punish her opponents for following her, even as she moved to safety.

The sun set, and Margar clapped the grunt on the shoulder. "Better. We will train again tomorrow."
