In life, Xedrix Lanshire belonged to a family of high status. His kin were noblemen of Lordaeron. Although they took part in politics, Xedrix lived the life of a common thief. He never was looked upon highly by his father and brothers. The money that let them live comfortably was never spent upon him. They left him to rot in the streets.
After mastering his thievery, Xedrix came across a man hidden in the shadows in Stromgarde. He told him of a society of rogues, they made up the Ravenholdt house. Xedrix, being an inquisitive young man at the time, made his way up the slopes of Hillsbrad.
It didn't take long for Xedrix to pass all of the rites of passage to enter their society. Soon, instead of being a pitiful thief, Xedrix became an accomplished assassin. He held resentment for his family, and he listed everyone under the name Lanshire on a hit-list. One by one, he killed his kin. Last but not least, he came to his father, the one who had access to the safe, and the one who had made his life hell.
His father begged for his life, and offered him the fortune. Xedrix took from him the key to the safe and then shoved a dagger up through his father's skull. Licking the blood off the blade, he walked back to his residence at the Ravenholdt Manor.
Over the next few years, Xedrix hid the fortune in various locations spanning across Azeroth. When Xedrix died at the Lich King's hands and was resurrected, he desperately searched the places where he stored his precious items and all were stolen. To this day, Xedrix still searches for the ones who stole his fortune, and he will steal it back.
