Vord looked out over the small balcony outside the entrance of his new home. He had to admit that he admired the craftsmanship of the Titan structures that were on this world, but what truly stunned him was the night sky above his head. He had picked the Storm Peaks not only for the beauty of the land, but also because its hard-to-access areas and turbulent weather made it an ideal place to live if one wished for a quiet life. Vord watched as the snow drifted to the ground far below him. He had left the Grin weeks ago, leaving only a letter informing Gorfrunch as to where he was going and why. War and bloodshed were all Vord knew, and it was something he had grown accustomed to, but the revelation of Drak'nora's pregnancy drove him to give his family something better. A sound behind him snapped him out of his trance, and he looked to see Drak'nora standing there wearing her leopard coat, a slight bulge in her form. Vord grinned as he saw the coat, remembering how the great cat had met its end after it had made the poor choice of pouncing on her while she was in a mood. Vord had vowed that day not to aggravate her until after she'd given birth.
"Vord, come back inside. It's getting cold out," she said.
Vord smiled and felt the gap in his teeth with his tongue. 'Someday,' he thought, 'we'll be back.'
