“Just tell him no, you aren’t a servant of the Grin and that you aren’t leaving. He will have to relent and talk to you eventually.” Apollymmi’s piercing green eyes narrowed in frustrated desperation.

“You don’t know him like I do Apolly. He will see that as insubordination and become more concrete in his original decision. He isn’t like other men, I should know, he simply doesn’t relent until he has made sure you have proven your worthiness.” Errubus couldn’t look long at Apollymmi, they hadn’t known each other for long but something had just clicked between them, and now he had to leave her for an indefinite time. This was a hell he had not prepared himself for.

“Proven your worthiness?!?” Apolly’s voice became stronger, sterner, and her eyes fiercer. Gods it was going to be difficult leaving this woman. “Erru You are his Son, you have nothing to prove.”

“We could go to Stonard together?” Errubus knew the answer she would give but he had to ask.

Eyes softening and body partially relaxing, Apolly shook her head no.
“I have to take care of the Malygos situation with Warlord Shadiel and I can’t leave till it is finished.” Eyes softer still, Apollymmi quickly embraced Errubus, kissed him softly and then whispered a final message before walking away while not looking back.

“Be careful in Stonard, and come back to Northrend soon.”

Errubus glanced longingly one last time at the fading form of Apollymmi and then began summoning the Death Gate. He would first visit the rogue Death Knight base Ebon Hold to stock up on supplies and then make his way to Stonard. He was to employ himself to the services of a Warlock named Bok’theg. Shadiel had told him to not fully trust the Orc, to watch his back and what the Warlock did, but that the mission they had in store for him was of the greatest importance should Shadiel fail in Northrend.

Not many bothered to even look long at Errubus as he came into Stonard. Those that did though stared for a little too long. There was something familiar about the young Death Knight that no one could really put a finger on but for the most part the Grin kept to themselves and it seemed they were busy in preparation for something massive. There was no time for them to dally about, at least this early in the afternoon.

Errubus made his way into the Bar and noticed how disheveled the furnishings were. Shadiel had told him that this was the place that fights often broke out for strange and bizarre reasons and if Errubus were lucky he too would someday get to participate in such a bar brawl. Shadiel’s sense of humor hadn’t seemed to change though when Errubus looked into his eyes for the last time before leaving, he witnessed an inner fire that he had never seen before in the one that he had once called Father.

“This is crazy,” Errubus thought to himself, “I don’t need any of this, I would be fine on my own.”

Yet as soon as the words were spoken he thought of a green eyed priestess fighting in Northrend. Sighing to himself he orders a drink from the bar. The bar tender quickly poured the drink and pretended not to stare. He inquired of Errubus if he knew him from somewhere. Errubus laughed and told him that most elves looked alike and it was nothing. This seemed good enough for the man and he went about his usual business.

Taking a seat in the far corner Errubus leans his head back and waits. This was supposed to be the meeting place with Bok’theg. The Death Knight watches the door but sees no one coming in that meets the description that the Warlord had given him. Errubus realizes how tired he is and goes into a light sleep that will be woken should any come too close.
