((Just a bit of RP I wrote up the other day while I was at work, which, alas, I'm awfully late in posting. I figured late is better than never. Don't take this as canon, s'just me having fun.))
Felora re-emerged from her flight form, landing heavily into the ruddy dust beside Faquarl. He didn't seem to notice her, his brow furrowed in thought. He was more subdued recently than she remembered; the campaign in Outland was taking a lot out of him, even moreso than Ironforge had. A chill ran through her as she again noticed his left eye, still milk-white and useless. She would never hear his feelings on that subject, she knew.
A light, smallish touch on her arm made her jump, and she looked down to see Yalim standing beside her with an easy grin. She smiled at him, the expression not quite reaching her violet eyes.
"Kept you busy out there tonight, didn't we?" she asked wryly, flexing her arm gingerly where yet another scar was beginning to form. She reached out to wipe a bit of blood from the tip of Yalim's ear. "Best not forget about yourself, my friend."
He rubbed at his head, suddenly looking tired. She put an engulfing hand on his shoulder.
"The Alliance certainly brought plenty to the table. Not quite enough to protect Danath, though," he smirked.
Felora grinned at him. "Aye. Renault and I were tossing him back and forth like a leather ball."
Yalim chuckled. "Wish Yagyu had been there to see that."
"So do I," she replied, quieting as she thought of their lost friend.
They stood together in companionable silence amidst the dust and the scent of smoldering wood; sounds of revelry and fighting by the rest of their clan resounded from some yards behind, the booming voice of their warchief threading through it all. Faquarl turned to them suddenly.
"You two should join the celebration. That keg is looking lonely."
Yalim nodded and moved off toward the others. Felora lingered a moment.
"Would you like me to get you a drink, sir?"
"No, thanks - I've had about all I can stomach for one night."
She nodded.
"Go enjoy yourself, Felora. We live to fight another day."
She turned and slowly followed the path that Yalim had taken, leaving her warlord alone with his demons.
